Julia Schechter, MSW, LICSW

Julia Schechter is a Boston-based multilingual LICSW with 16+ years of experience in trauma-informed care, mental health program development, and higher education.

She specializes in working with high-achieving adults who are experiencing anxiety, professional burnout, alcohol and substance use, and depression. She works bilingually in Spanish and English.

Her training and clinical work includes the McLean Hospital OCD Institute and Klarman Center for Eating Disorders, the Brigham and Women’s Outpatient Psychiatry Department, the Cambridge Health Alliance Victims of Violence Program under the leadership of Dr. Judith Herman, and the Cambridge Health Alliance Outpatient Addictions Service under the leadership of Dr. Mark Albanese.

In addition to her clinical work, she is a part-time faculty member at the Boston College Graduate School of Social Work and an adjunct instructor at the Simmons University School of Social Work, where she teaches core social work courses and mentors MSW students.

Most recently, she has been working with individuals receiving Ketamine/Esketamine for treatment-resistant depression.

She is licensed in Massachusetts and Utah, and is a clinical supervisor in Massachusetts.
