Anxiety therapy in MA & UT for high-achieving adults
You get everything done. You just can’t turn it off.
Anxiety in high achievers rarely looks like panic in a corner. It looks like answering emails at 11pm, rehearsing conversations in the shower, and feeling a jolt of dread when your phone buzzes. From the outside, you're doing well. From the inside, everything feels urgent, and rest feels like falling behind.
Signs this might be you
Your mind keeps running after the workday ends
You can't relax on vacation, or you get sick the moment you stop
Small mistakes feel like evidence of something bigger
You rely on a drink, a scroll, or overwork to take the edge off
You're successful and still waiting to feel like it's enough
What anxiety therapy looks like here
We don't just hand you breathing exercises. We look at where the urgency comes from, what it has protected you from, and what it costs you now.
Treatment may draw on:
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Psychodynamic therapy, to understand the patterns underneath
Mindfulness-based and body-based approaches, including trauma-sensitive yoga
Motivational interviewing, when alcohol or other substances are part of how you cope
Anxiety and burnout
Burnout and anxiety often feed each other. We help you tell the difference between a demanding season and a nervous system that no longer knows how to come down, and build a pace you can sustain without losing your edge.

Kacey Malz, LCSW, works with young adult women who have lived with anxiety for as long as they can remember: the overthinking, the people-pleasing, the sense that everyone else got a manual you didn't. Drawing on CBT, ACT, and Internal Family Systems, she helps clients understand where their anxiety comes from and build a different relationship with it, rather than just managing symptoms. She brings experience from Tufts Medical Center outpatient psychiatry and offers telehealth plus evening in-person sessions in Brookline.
